Gene Emerson

Gene Emerson (born 30 August 1997) is a Canadian composer and pianist residing in the Greater Vancouver Area. She has composed over 50 pieces of music for solo piano and various chamber groups.
==Biography==
Emerson first started piano lessons at the age of 4 in group classes at Tom Lee Music. She has previously studied under Rosemary O’Connor and Ross Salvosa and currently studies with Dr. Corey Hamm. Emerson started her formal composition training at the age of 11 and has studied with composer in residence of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra (2008-2011) Scott Good and Marcus Goddard. She continues her studies with both music critic and educator, David Gordon Duke and Rodney Sharman. Emerson is currently undertaking her undergraduate studies at the University of British Columbia on a scholarship as a dual degree student in physics and composition under Stephen Chatman and Dorothy Chang.
